Haha! I do not *personally* want to use Cygwin! But I've been told that it's the only reasonable chance we have at a non-VM one-click Windows option for now that doesn't use a server. And I'm motivated to help make that happen. (You can see oodles of threads discussing things like Mingw and MSVC toolchain and goodness knows what else by searching this group and sage-windows.) Cygwin remains the only option for this, though Emil's LiveCD seems like a very viable option for many uses (e.g., in a lab).
