This is a bit confusing.

is an upgrade to 3.5 which "closed: fixed" and merged into sage-4.3.1.rc1.
So if valgrind was updated to 3.5 in sage-4.3.1.rc1, why do I only see
valgrind-3.3.1 when I run "sage -optional"
Your ticket, #7766 is for an upgrade to the latest svn snapshot, which is a
different matter, and is not merged yet.
