I am proud to announce sagelive-511-46.exe, which will install the Sage system on Windows systems.
I tested it with Windows XP and Windows 7, it should also work on Vista and Windows 9x. It will not work with Windows ME This works similar to a WUBI install, so the sage system is installed parallel to Windows and links into the boot process. You can choose if you want to start Windows or the Sage System during boot.. Sure this will need some testing, but this is a 1-click install !!! download exe, klick on it, wait a bit, ready to go! As far as I know this is the easiest method to get sage running on a pure windows machine. I am currently uploading sagelive-511-46.exe to http://boxen.math.washington.edu/home/emil/sagelive/ If this is successful this could provide an easy possibility for distribution, e.g. in teaching situations, and open up a much wider user base. cheers emil Disclaimer: this hooks into the windows boot process, so use at own risk! If you are cautious maybe test on an oldha machine first ... -- To post to this group, send an email to sage-devel@googlegroups.com To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to sage-devel+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com For more options, visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/sage-devel URL: http://www.sagemath.org
