Hi,

Here in sage-on-gentoo we would very much want to sage to move to at least 
numpy-1.4.1, unless you have a real need for the really latest pre-release 
(numpy 1.5.0rc1 right now) I think we should stick to a proper release.
Going to scipy-0.8 at the same time would be a big bonus.
I'd happily give you a hand with that if I can. At the very least I try any 
patch you produce to move sage to these.
