Did you try this (on your Mac, I assume)?

At some point it will say

Hit <Return> to see next plot:

And then hitting <Return> gives me (for instance) January pie sales...
It should work VERY nicely.

The point is that demo(graphics) probably won't work unless you open a
graphics device; maybe this happens automatically for 'native' R.  On
Linux I assume that

> png()

instead of

> quartz()

will work, but I can't test this since I don't have a Linux box.
