Currently if a package fails to build in Sage, one gets a message

sage: An error occurred while installing pynac-0.2.0.p3
Please email sage-devel http://groups.google.com/group/sage-devel
explaining the problem and send the relevant part of
of /export/home/drkirkby/sage-4.5.alpha0/install.log. Describe your
computer, operating system, etc.

It would be quite easy to make that a bit more informatative, and
dump at least some basic information, like the output of 'uname -a'
and /etc/release (Solaris), /etc/issue (Linux).
That way, if someone posts their failed build, we already have some
information.
Yes. I would probably not provide quite as detailed report as below
though, simply for the fact that I think it will put people off from
sending so much information.
Alternatively, we could add "to report this bug upstream, please run
sage -XXX and/or email ..." where the above script emails/uploads the
relevant information. (That might be tricky depending on how much of
Sage we can depend on having built... Also, having contact information
via the reply address is nice.)
Then we change the above wording to
===============================================
sage: An error occurred while installing pynac-0.2.0.p3
Please email sage-devel http://groups.google.com/group/sage-devel
explaining the problem and preserving the rest of this error
message, which will aid the Sage developers to help you resolve the
problem.
