Likewise. I rather hope David might still be reading this and will
change his mind. I find it very easy to skip past postings which do
not interest me, or which I have no expertise to help with. But if
there's a problem on any platform because of (for example) something
in the eclib makefiles, then I am very happy to be told about it so
that I can fix it.

It's up to William really. I don't feel sage-solaris sends the right messages,
and will certainly make it more difficult to keep Sage building on Solaris.
Having put quite a bit of work into getting it to the state where it does work,
and does pass all the doc tests, I don't wish to feel I wish to take on an
unnecessary hard task of keeping Sage building on Solaris.
I'd like to see William make Solaris an officially supported platform, and
insist all new releases build and pass doc tests on Solaris.
At one time, Michael Abshoff was employed full-time to work on the Solaris port.
I assume at that point William considered Solaris quite important. But now I am
less convinced William see it that way, but despite me sending him a private
email asking for clarification a few weeks ago, he did not reply.
