Yes, I've been building from source. And both 32-bit and 64-bit. I haven't been running the tests, but nothing seems to be broken due to being on Gentoo.
I will admit installing Gentoo on a machine, virtual or not, is a bit obtuse the first few times. I suppose I could build a Gentoo VB machine and upload the image somewhere if that would help. That being said, anyone running Gentoo should have the wherewithal to compile Sage from source, so this maybe a moot point. Compiling from source is what the entire distro is based on.
