Hi Michael, probably you did. But just to be sure: did you really do tests with the singular spkg I put a while ago at http://sage.math.washington.edu/home/weberg/spkg/ ?
There are quite some changes in it (ask me if you have specific questions), one or the other of which might possibly help. The oMalloc package also brings its own "testsuite", what are its results? The problem for me to work myself on this issue, is that I do have a MacIntel Core2Duo, but I haven't got OS X 10.5 available at all, and I do not intend to buy one, or to install it. (Waiting for 10.6 to come out.) And OS X 10.4 does not seem to be really "64-bit ready". Working remote might be a possibility, but I can't promise to spend much time on it.
