Even if we wanted to pass -march flags or so to Sage there is
currently no way to do it, even if one uses tricks to build ATLAS. So
getting the hardware to work somewhere is much easier. In the long
term I plan to fix all those issues with passing CFLAGS to Sage, but
it isn't a high priority.

:) - note that the ATLAS in Sage has pretuned settings for Athlons. We
will see if that works for you.
