My only suggestion would be to use the version that will be used for inclusion into python itself: http://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0371/ (it will be called multiprocessing, for one). That way everyone will use the future-proof API and you'll be able to simply drop it from Sage once it's included in the underlying Python. I'm not sure how much the API has changed for the merge, but I know they were discussing a few small name fixes.
