Yep, people should really do that. The current Notebook code in alpha3
should support Safari 3.1.

For all those people with gcc 4.3 out there:

That build  is actually on an arch linux x86-64 image, so we will have
binaries for that platform from 3.0 forward. I will merge all the
build fixes into alpha4 and release that in the next 16 hours.
