Abshoff: > Do you got the statistics script for downloads of Sage? I checked my > Sage mirror logs and it looks like I had about 100 binary downloads > from 11/01-11/26 this month from sage.apcocoa.org alone.
Last week the stats on sagemath.org were: Linux Binary 30 OS X Binary 11 Source 22 VMware 36 For a total of 99 downloads last week, so maybe there are something like about 400/month. There are 7 mirrors of sagemath.org, and these see maybe 100/month, so maybe there are nearly 1000 downloads/month still. We still have a *lot* of work to do to increase this number to 10000 downloads/month, which I think is a goal for Jan 2009. NOTE: In all the above counts, I'm counting *unique IP addresses* for that week. So if there are 3 sage downloads of the OSX binary from the same IP address during a week, it will only count once. Here are the TLD's for the windows vmware downloads from last week, counting multiplicities (2 means couldn't resolve): 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, Hu, ar, at, au, com, com, de, es, fr, fr, fr, gov, in, my, net, net, net, net, net, net, net, net, net, net, pt, sa, sa, sa, sa, sa, za Interesting -- "sa" = "Saudi Arabia" is popular; .my is Malaysia. .at is Austria. The countries for OSX binaries -- us and europe 2, at, com, fr, fr, fr, net, net, net, uk, uk The countries for Linux binaries -- mostly us and europe, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, au, br, com, com, com, com, de, de, edu, fi, fr, gov, it, it, it, net, net, net, net, net, net, net, net The countries for source: 2, 2, at, com, com, de, dk, edu, edu, gov, it, net, net, net, net The number of downloads per week from sagemath.org has remained very roughly constant over the last several months... e.g., I looked just now at a week in October 2007 and the downloads were 105: Linux Binary 32 OS X Binary 11 Source 25 VMware 37 As always, the VMware image is the most popular Sage download, so maybe it is good for something.
