My point is this: The doc-test you reference is not even in vanilla 2.8.10. 
That 
specific doc-test is new in the patch (and the fact that it failed indicates 
that the patch was applied).  However, the patch failed as the text you "Got:" 
is what vanilla 2.8.10 actually does -- which means to me that you doc-tested 
the new source code with binary that did not have the patch.

I will verify against rc1 and report back, but it'll be awhile (2 hours) since 
that means that I need to build an rc1 and patch and doc-test.
