Hi, I've just done a clean install on sage.math from sage-1.7.tar.
After running "make", I tried "./sage -b", and I get: ---------------------------------------------------------- sage: Building and installing modified SAGE library files. sage/modules/free_module_element.pyx --> /home/dmharvey/sage-1.7/local//lib/python/site-packages//sage/modules/ free_module_element.pyx sage/modules/complex_double_vector.pyx --> /home/dmharvey/sage-1.7/local//lib/python/site-packages//sage/modules/ complex_double_vector.pyx [......] running install running build running build_py running build_ext running install_lib byte-compiling /home/dmharvey/sage-1.7/local/lib/python2.5/site-packages/sage/rings/ polynomial_singular_interface.py to polynomial_singular_interface.pyc Sorry: TypeError: ('compile() expected string without null bytes',) running install_egg_info Removing /home/dmharvey/sage-1.7/local/lib/python2.5/site-packages/sage-0.0.0- py2.5.egg-info Writing /home/dmharvey/sage-1.7/local/lib/python2.5/site-packages/sage-0.0.0- py2.5.egg-info What is that TypeError about? Is that supposed to happen?
