It's a glitch.  In fact, ironically, it is the reason that last week we  
moved all the lists
 from sourceforge to google groups.

Evidently all mail from gmail to sourceforge bounced like this for over a  
week, and maybe
still is (?).  Evidently, there were over a million bounced emails...

Anyway, google groups are nicer to use and more robust than
sourceforge ones and are just as free, so I'm happy about the switch.
