Actually one of the main reasons that made me add the Islamic
date/time GNOME Shell extension, is that both Minbar & Monajat don't
work well under GNOME Shell (neither I nor Muayyad were able to
  figure out the reason).

If I understand correctly, Monajat has a strength over Minbar, which
is the cities database in Monajat also includes the prayer calculation
method, timezone & DST info for each city, but Minbar only has the
  long/lat coordinates of the city.
