the only reason to choose C++ was that we learn c++ at the college and this would be a good practise to improve our programming skills, of course we could choose a nother programming language like java, java will be the next language i will learn at the collage insallah;-) (combining dunya with akhira;-)), but we should use a programming language without licence problems (like c#) We are alhamdullilah more than 5 muslims and they all want to work on islamic software, but i am the only one who use sabily. And I am not able to motivate my brothers at the collage, My skills are not good enough to do that on my self, I am working on a screencast about sabily to spread sabily in the german speaking countries (germany, austria, switzerland). And I hope this will help us find more developers for sabily.
@brother Abdelmonam its not easy to find for each propose a website;-) and to find a trustfull website should be more difficult
I will try to finish the screencast soon insallah. And I will try to contact some islamic preacher in germany very famouse preacher to help us to check the correctnes of the propose for islamic quiz. And i will ask them to upload the screencast on ther website.

Brothers since I am very new to Ubuntu (or the open source) technology I would not be able to lead the project at this time. I am so confused and struggling to make myself familiar with this environment. However, once I get the grip then inshaa-Allaah I will see what I can do by the Will of Allaah. You see I am struggling to install PHP 5.2.14 now since 5.3 has some bugs which is incompatible with other softwares like MediaWiki. I am also struggling to know the files' structure on Ubuntu 10 (i.e. Sabily 10 Manarat) because I install Apache2 (through sudo apt-get) but I have to make sure that PHP 5.2.14 is integrated with Apache2 and to install in the correct path. (sigh) :)
Why did we choose C++ any specific reason? Why not Java for example. Moreover please tell me what shall I be doing? Shall I start designing the user interface? or We are in the process of contributing the idea only? Is there any guide to follow? :) brothers I am totally confused.
For other ideas I am already on some projects and one of them is Kutub-Sitta in English on web with search engine, inshaa-Allaah.

dear brother welcome to sabily team. I am happy that you want to start with developing, by support us with islamic-quiz and insallah other nice sabily-projects;-).
I am sorry to telling you that the progress for developing islamic-quiz is at the beginning. But you seem to be an experienced developer and it would be nice to see you leading the sub project islamic-quiz. I am a beginner, i have only basic knowledges in c++ (console only). I would like to prepare the questions for the quiz. But, you see that my english is not very good. I would like to ask the questions in german and insallah i will find some brothers to translate them to english, for the brothers who want to translate the questions in their language. A few ideas are these:
- Each question should have 3 possible answers, and after answering the question (right or wrong) an infobox screens on the display to describe the source (correctness check;-)).
- Each Level has minimum 10 questions
- The questions/answers should be translated on launchpad.net .pot Files
- There should be endless levels because we could add endless questions about islam
- We could release a sofware version(bug fix, new features, improvements) and a question version(full translated levels in german, english, turkish, bosnian, russian, arabic, indonesian,..... and we must find volunteers to translate the questions in regular periods (before every question release call for participation on sabily mailinglist to translate the questions)
-the whole development should be hosted on launchpad
