Several projects are completed, yet we didn't succeed in getting them
  into Ubuntu's main repositories:

  * zekr: Derakhshani attached the latest package to launchpad [1], yet it
didn't get uploaded, the reason I think is that Derakhshani set the
status to "Fix committed", which shouldn't have be done.

  * monajat: Fadi has been trying hard [2] to get it uploaded, yet I dunno
why things have stopped in February

  * thwab & hijra: those two are complete, and they are on our PPAs except
for one thing; the english translation of the Waqf Public License [3]
needs to be revised (the language, grammar, punctuation,...), when I
had a quick look at it, I found some mistakes in it, but I never had
time to inspect it carefully to fix them all. When it is fixed, I
can then go ahead and try getting them uploaded to Ubuntu & Debian
  insh'Allah.

  * manarah: that project didn't even start yet (as far as I know). Yet
there is a similar project started by Muayyad called thawab [4].

  * webstrict: that also is done, Mehdi has been trying to get it
uploaded. Eventually he didn't find himself in packaging, so I gave a
hand in packaging, but I wasn't interested to invest time to get it
  uploaded. Reasons are:
1] It is in Java, yet I think that it can better be done in Python,
which I found to be lighter & faster to compile when I started
packaging thwab & hijra. Also it is the language preferred by Ubuntu
guys (dunno why they have that passion for Python though!)

2] I tried it, and others tried it, and they found it to block more
than they wanted. For example I saw several complaining that they
can't browse AlJazeera website, also I had several problems which made
me uninstall webstrict. Probably that's why Mehdi decided that
webstrict shouldn't be installed by default on Sabily.

  * artwork: only 3 packages are in the official ubuntu repositories
(the gdm theme, usplash theme, and GTK/icon/Metacity themes), even
those are the old "UbuntuME" (ie. not the Sabily) themes, since our
themes got ready a little bit late. Anyways, I will give it a try to
get them as SRUs (stable release updates), maybe Susanto can help
here, since I think he's a member in Ubuntu (am I right ?).

    Yet there two other packages:
1] sabily-wallpapers: it contains WONDERFUL wallpapers submitted by
Taha Selim USTUN, *YET* we doubt that they are legal to use. The
story is that Taha got the wallpapers from several sites which said
that they are free to use, but he didn't care to know:
      a) who are the original authors of those wallpapers
      b) the exact license text of those wallpapers, the exact license
text will determine what they actually mean by 'free', some mean,
that it is free to use on your desktop, but not to edit it, some
mean that you cannot distribute it, and so on...

Due to those issues, I didn't even try to get the wallpapers in
Ubuntu official repositories. I cannot even write a proper
debian/copyright file for this package !

2] sabily-artwork: this package is complete, yet it got two issues:
      a) it depends on all the artwork packages, and that includes the
wallpapers package, and since the wallpapers package is not in the
official ubuntu repository, hence this package cannot be there
      too.
      b) The basmallah audio files in this package also don't have clear
authors/copyright holders & license. Another reason not to put it
      on official Ubuntu repository.

Now for a little talk about the future releases (insh'Allah). I have
sent an email in February [5], that usplash will be replaced with
Plymouth[6][7][8], also the way themes are made for GDM will be different.
This means that for the next release we need to work on themes for
those two. As far as I know, no one has yet stepped into this.

Also, grub2 may get stable soon (I am using it now), so it would be
useful to start making a theme for it. I have done a test theme for
grub2. I found that grub2 is much better, also it supports better
    graphics modes.

NOTE: that nothing is decided until UDS Karmic, which will be on
25-29 May. There is a possibility that Plymouth won't be used if
something called KMS (kernel mode setting) doesn't work well.
