This may not have anything to do with s3cmd. I got this error with an s3cmd sync several hours ago. Now, suddenly, it's working properly. Nothing relevant changed before or after, so my guess is that it was a temporary issue on Amazon's end. Try it again and see what happens. (Incidentally, I'm in the USA - there could be regional differences.)
