Hello dear list, since the end of november there is an open bug report on the ArchLinux bug tracker [1]: S-nail is supposed to crash with a segmentation violation.
[1] <https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/37950> I wasn't able to reproduce the bug unless the reporter gave me an exact test case, but after i've used the binary package manager to upgrade the system as such, the bug disappeared. Yet the reporter insisted (thanks to Thomas!), and indeed, today i tried somewhat harder, generally speaking, and am able to create a reproducable crash also on Crux 3.0 Linux. This seems to occur only with GNU LibC, i cannot force a failure on BSD. (I'll open my nail-devel archive, hit 'p*' and then (in less(1)) 'G'.) I have yet no idea what is going on, but thought you should know. I will report back to you when i have a solution; it is pretty likely that i'll release v14.5, then, the [next] is stable and hasn't seen fixes for quite a while. Pretty unfortunate, but i think better than going over v14.4.6.
