Hi, I have a question regarding behavior of VRRP in the scenario when the same VRID is used to provide protection to hosts on two different subnets.
Please consider the following situation: 1. The same VRID (e.g., 1) is configured on two IP-capable interfaces later referred to as IF-1 and IF-2in two routers 2. Each of these interfaces is configured with two IP addresses (for the same IP version)in two different subnets. E.g.: * IF-1 is configured with IP-11 = 192.168.1.1/24 and IP-12 = 192.168.2.1/24 * IF-2 is configured with IP-21=192.168.1.2 and IP-22 = 192.168.2.2 3. VRRP group with VRID=1 is configured with virtual IP addresses as following: * VIP-1 = 192.168.1.1 (i.e., IF-1 is the owner of this VIP) * VIP-2 = 192.168.2.2 (i.e., IF-2 is the owner of this VIP). In the scenario above, should one of these interfaces send VRRP Advertisement messages with Priority set to 255? Your feedback would be highly appreciated.
