Hi, all

Here is the link of the record for the satellite network side meeting on
Tuesday:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1wEP9JDeT5OManriBJoYCQEosybSt7lsd?usp=share_link

The chat_Q_and_A lists Q&A online and one-site. It is not complete since the
quality of the recording voice is not good and we cannot recover/remember all
discussion details.
Participants file just list people who signed up.

If you think your Q is not well answered or recorded, let me know.

Thanks

Lin

Interesting meeting. There is race in space. For example, UK satellite
communications provider OneWeb has completed its initial phase of low-earth
orbit (LEO) satellite deployments to provide connectivity services around the
world, especially in hard-to-reach areas. "On Sunday the company launched 36
satellites in partnership

NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) - the commercial arm of the Indian Space

OneWeb's constellation is now large enough to provide global coverage, the
company explained in a statement, adding that it will be able to deliver global
connectivity services to enterprises and communities by the end of 2023.
OneWeb's CEO, Neil Masterson, described the move as "the most significant
milestone in the history of OneWeb," as the provider has now deployed the
satellite set required for global coverage. Sunil Bharti Mittal, executive
chairman of OneWeb, said this development will help efforts to close the
digital divide globally". Read

But it's still not there :) But yes ISL give a ton of interesting routing
opportunities (with constraints like minimizing energy).

LEO satellite constellations with ISL? Which one?

Hi, Lou

Basically, this side meeting is to discuss the networking issues and explore
solutions when using satellite for NTN integration. For example, large scale
LEO satellite constellation forms a network by using ISL, and this network
should provide the support of internet access or mobile back haul. This is
expected from 3GPP perspective in its NTN integration for 5G and beyond.
It is obvious that satellite network has "time variant" behavior, but we will
not do any information/data model work charted in TVR. We will only focus other
topics, such as:
1. Problem statement and 3GPP's use case
2. Addressing, Routing and switching
3. Mobility, Handover, Multi-path
4. Integration with internet and routes exchanging
If you have more question, you are welcome to join the conference to discuss.

Thanks

Lin

Hi,

Can you explain the relationship between this side meeting and TVR? Is it just
a TVR use case?

Thanks,

Lou
