There are a lot of possibilities because there are so many components to the system, and it's hard without a reproducible. What I would like to know is, is there a way to disable R's insistence on overriding the signal table? If there's a segfault then I would like to get an automatic core dump, and not some sort of interactive prompt. And how does it work if I've started the job on some cluster machine without any terminal hooked up to it?
