They do not get exported, and doing so seems rather complicated on several 
different levels.  On the mechanical side of things, there really isn't any 
existing pathway through which something at the level of a mark attached to a 
note event could vary the tempo.  On the stylistic side of things, the way to 
interpret a fermata or pause is very much a matter of taste, and a generic, 
one-size-fits-all interpretation is likely to leave everyone unhappy.

This is one case where I think doing nothing is about the nicest thing we can 
do.  We leave to you to interpret these things to your own taste, by setting 
up tempo chances however you like to coincide with these marks.  The tempo 
changes _should_ export to MIDI, although now that I think about it I bet we 
still haven't gotten around to exporting tempo ramps.
