1x1 is the same as the 2x2 so it must be autoloading. If you plug it into the
usb port of some other machine (that isn't set up for linux audio work) you
will find the usb light doesn't pulse.

If it does still pulse then you must have a very recent model and Maudio must
have changed the firmware.
