Thanks for the replies,

Recently it even went worse. I connected fantasia (linuxsampler front-end)
as an output of Rosegarden, instead of my XV88. It went super... untill
suddenly, completely out of the blue, sound from Rosegarden stopped. Playing
with the sampler was still possible, directly from my keyboard, but not from
Rosegarden. Midi was 'lost'. No errors were given, midi and audio status of
Rosegarden was displayed as "OK", panic button gave no effect at all...
just.. no sound... major bump. I only could restart everything.

Since I use a firewire audio device I have to use jack midi ports.
Rosegarden uses Alsa midi ports, and so far I have not found a way to change
Rosegarden to jack midi ports. Perhaps there is an issue in that area. So
far I use a2jmid to be able to work with software that does not have jack
midi support.

I find it unbelievable that an app like Rosegarden has no setting to enable
itself, or disable itself as master in the Jack session setup, and I hardly
can't believe that such a huge application can't enable jack midi ports.

If anyone knows how... let me know.

grtz,
Bart
