I look after openSUSE rosegarden (not bragging just qualifying) and  I would 
say that you have a kde problem which might be solved by 
clicking on your kmix icon in the system tray, selecting the mixer button at 
the bottom then in the mixer window click settings menu and 
you will have a box similar to a tool bar configuration box where you can add 
controls. You must have kde 4.6.1 or one of the 4.6 betas 
installed. You should seek help either on a kde list or a Fedora list, better 
still fedora-kde if there is a list or forum dedicated to kde.
