I don't know the specifics of your particular setup, but it's entirely possible that's exactly what happened. Rosegarden Companion talks about the "Synth" or "Wave" (I forget which) mixer channel on the emu10k1, but I haven't seen that control available for several years now. I have no idea what happened along the way, but something did. The same sort of something might have happened to you too; especially going that many distro versions in one whack. -- D.
