Position opening: Lab System Engineer First setup: -------------- The candidate will be in charge of maintaining a mini datacenter available for external usage. His contributions will be key to the overall success of the partnership we have developed with System integrators. The equipment of the lab is dedicated to several our major EMEA SI partners (Accenture, Bearing point, Capgemini, Deloitte …) and is used as the foundation for their Proof of Concept.
The lab is also used for all the remote technical activities including the field technical readiness. The candidate will also maintain this environment for conducting presales trainings. This will involve delivering exceptionally hands-on training out of the remote lab. Second Setup: -------------- The candidate will have to maintain and administrate the NonStop systems based in Boeblingen _ German whilst supporting the partners using those systems. The candidate will have to master written and spoken English , German language command will regarded as a definitive plus The candidate will have to travel each 2nd week to Boeblingen to locally administrate the machine. Remaining part of the deliverables will be done remotely. Profile General ones: Computing or similar subject related degree IT skills (manageability, installation, security) Network and security including firewall technologies. Excellent knowledge of the IT environment and its future trends Ability to communicate complex technical contents plainly and simply flexibility and resourcefulness Interpersonal sensitivity and customer responsiveness 2-3 years' experience in one or more of the following: X86 servers product portfolio, NT, Manageability, Network/Security, High availability concepts Specific Technical Knowledge: - Enterprise Operating System Level administration knowledge ( UNIX ,VMS ,MVS or the like ) is a must. Sound knowledge of network technique including VPN access. Windows 2003 server - NonStop ( Tandem ) knowledge will regarded as ideal. Job deliverables: NS16000 , NS14000 , NS1000 software maintenance New hardware install including NEOview extentions Hardware fix and replace responsablity by calling him the right level of support. Local LAN management including; ? Windows domain for logon mngmt, file share, local print services ? VPN access on two PPTP servers plus IPSec server on Windows · Local lab internet services, via proxy or other appropriate channel ?
