Hi

Most of MSPD at ALBA users facing this problem (typically battery materials previously filled and sealed in Ar GB) prefer sealing with plastiline (instead of grease) The problem is often sharp cutting the capillary after having filled the capillary  Borosilicate caps appaers more brittle than quartz.
At the end is a question of practicing.

Note that for long time in air (transport for example) it is still advised keeping the capillary stored in sealed envelope/containers

PS Funny coincidence, today users are collecting data on such sealed capillarys

Dear Rietveld users,

We are currently working with some very hygroscopic compounds in capillaries.

These capillaries are fill in a glove box (N2).

How can we sealed these capillaries (borosilicate) in the glove box ?

Best wishes, François
