The way that I simulate patterns: I've got a "blank pattern" that has an intensity of 100 counts from 2 to 170 deg 2theta. Then I put in the instrument and structure parameters as I see fit, and fix the scale factor in the structure(s); et voila! A simulated pattern :) Cheers Matthew ________________ Matthew Rowles CSIRO Minerals Box 312 Clayton South, Victoria AUSTRALIA 3169 Ph: +61 3 9545 8892 Fax: +61 3 9562 8919 (site) Email: matthew.row...@csiro.au -----Original Message----- From: Ross H Colman [mailto:ucca...@ucl.ac.uk] Sent: Monday, 6 July 2009 20:36 To: rietveld_l@ill.fr Subject: Dummy pattern within TOPAS Dear Rietvelders, I am looking to generate a number of 'dummy' powder neutron diffraction patterns within TOPAS for comparison purposes. I know that this can be done within Fulprof using the Job=3 mode but could not find anything within the TOPAS manual/examples about generation of simulated patterns. If it is possible could someone send me the command/macro or an example of its use in an INP file? Thank you in advance for any help you may have. Best regards Ross Colman
