If you receive an email that your message to the Rietveld list was
rejected, it is NOT because some-one out there doesn't like you :-)
Messages are not even seen by a real person before they are circulated.
<Rietveld_L@ill.fr> simply rejects any message that does not originate
from a registered email address. That helps prevent spam.

If your message is rejected, it is because your "From" email address has
changed. You may still receive messages from the list, forwarded from your
old address, but until you subscribe with your new address by sending
"SUBSCRIBE [EMAIL PROTECTED] myrealname&lab" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> you won't
be able to send any messages to the list.

OK, but I registered; why did my message still not appear on the Rietveld
list or on the list archives ?

This is because you hit "Reply" to a Rietveld list message instead of
"Reply All" :-) A "Reply" will go only to the original poster; if you want
to reply to the whole list (recommended) you must hit "Reply All". This is
to save people from broadcasting potentially embarrassing personal
messages to the whole list, and archiving them as well on the internet, if
they simply "reply" to an earlier email from that person without checking
the "to" field.

And please remember not to post large attachments to all 1000+ Rietveld
list members.

Alan.
