Tim,

don't have one myself, but have seen a moded assembly on a Bruker machine where 
a N2 bleed was used in the replacement mirror. It seemed to be successful (in 
that the replacement mirror was outlasting the first). I believe Bruker did the 
mod but it may has been local. Ask Bruker.
