Hello All,
I want to simulate line broadening due to stacking faults in a layered material by defining a sublattice with different broadening (in GSAS). When I try to refine the corresponding parameter "sfec" (I use CW profile 4) nothing happens; that is: the value stays at what it was. Yet, if I type in different values for sfec I see different wRp etc. values when I do zero cycles refinement and when I do more cycles, the refinement parameters (except sfec) get updated values, from which I infer that the value of sfec does have an effect.
Either I am missing a point or somehow sfec doesn't get updated. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has recent experience in using this option. If anyone can send me an .exp file of a case where refining sfec works that would be great as I can see what I am doing wrong.
I am using the latest version of GSAS (obtained from ccp14). I should mention I mainly use GSAS through EXPGUI, however I defined the lattice vectors directly with EXPEDT. Further, when I check "sfec" I can see in EXPEDT that it is flagged for optimization, so I can't imagine the problem lies with EXPGUI.
Thank you
Jaap
