Our lab is considering the purchase of a new multipurpose diffractometer,
which is likely to see some use for Reitveld analysis. While the increased
intensity from Gobel mirrors looks good, we want to know if the mirrors
introduce any complications that could affect overall data quality. Has
anyone done done Reitveld fits from an instrument with Gobel mirrors? If
so, is the peak shape difficult to fit with standard software? Are there
any complications for indexing powder patterns? Are any other correction
factors needed? Finally, is the increased intensity worth the price?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Paul Forster
