Ah, I tested it with the environment variable USE_CALCITE_PLANNER=true which 
was locally set in my environment.  This sets the classpath to include Calcite.

But maybe that's the answer?  Maybe we should keep this as a custom cluster and 
set the environment variable USE_CALCITE_PLANNER=true?
