1. I've used 3 firewire cards - the WD card, the SB-Link port on the SB Audigy and most recently the Adaptec DuoConnect card (has 1394 && usb2). All of them used the ohci1394 driver. 2. I'm only using it for a CD-RW drive, and it sure seems faster than the old SCSI one I had internally. No quantifiable #'s for you. 3. Very. 4.
