Could be a coincidence in timing....perhaps.  You mention pop3 machines.
Those are also smtp forwarders?  You say you can send mail to them, but POP
doesn't send mail, that's why I ask.

I have to admit to losing the original message....But if this is a laptop
running linux, could you just run sendmail locally and bounce off of that?
