Sorry I've been busy getting married this weekend, so as you can imagine
my mind has been on other things.

I'll have a look through the answers and see what I come up with. All I
can say is that I was able to send email outside of the local domain
when I had RH7.2 installed. It is since I have installed RH7.3 that I
have the problem. There are two pop3 mail servers on the local domain
and I can send mail to both of them, but they won't forward it outside
it seems. As somebody mentioned it could be something to do with
relaying, but then it worked before. Maybe the IT guys have changed
something (no there is no point asking them!) . My laptop is tolerated
on the network, but they are not Linux people
