I just recently built a new 7.3 box and have just about everything
running as I like with the exception of sendmail. The original install
had no /etc/mail/sendmail.cf file, but sendmail was successfully
starting at boot. I made some minor modifications to the sendmail.mc
file and used m4 to generate a sendmail.cf file. Now, is spitting out a
"Starting sendmail: 554 5.0.0 No local mailer defined
554 5.0.0 QueueDirectory (Q) option must be set" error. The odd part is
that putting it back to the original state doesn't help. It still won't
start. I keep getting the same error no matter what combo I try. I've
looked at everything that I can think of (actually twice) and I am
getting no where. I am no sendmail expert, but I don't remember ever
seeing this issue before.

Any ideas about what I might be missing?

Thanks,
Brian
