Nope, just that most of the world seems to be going to LDAP. From that FAQ, Hesiod seems nice in that it runs in the DNS server, and you probably don't need an extra process. On the other hand, a lot more software seems to support LDAP than Hesiod. I just migrated from NIS to LDAP+Kerberos in my home network in preparation for doing the same thing where I work.
