It is not a solution for everyone, but it's a nice option. One aspect to Bob's original email that occured to me this morning. This is likely to draw some fire, but...why can't RedHat figure out a solution like Microshlcok's Critical Upates mechanism? A channel by which urgent security and system updates could be grabbed. A new user who sees 240 megs of updates to download is likely to feel a tad daunted. Especially if they don't have a high bandwidth connection. As a subscriber to RedHat's announcents list and CERT's list I notice when security problems come along and how to deal with them. A novice might not, but as they become more familiar with all the resources available they would likely find a method that best fits they're situation. The above paragraph is mostly me 'thinking out loud'. I recognize it would not be simple to set up such a system, let alone get people to use is consistantly. ~Rob -- Rob Saul.:|:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:|:.de recta non tolerandum sunt _______________________________________________ Redhat-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
