while i can't tell you how to fix the problem, i can tell you a following:

a) yep, that's a shockwave-flash file

b) yep, netscrape has a tendency to blow up when running
   such things.  macromedia is trying to produce a more
   stable plugin, so maybe an updated version can be
   downloaded here:
