I have a Redhat linux 7.2
server. 500mhz 160mb ram. I have setup the PPPOE Through the control
panel. Every couple of minutes the connection drops and then reconnects
with a new IP address. I need it to stay constant to run apache. I
am using a update service to send the new ip to a hostname, but if it only
lastsd a minute or two the new ip isnt updated by the time it changes. I
need to figure out how to make the connection more constant so the IP only
changes when the lease expires. Any suggestions? Please email
me.
Just for another note. I
tried to configure the connection with adsl-setup, but it doesnt exist.
Even after I installed the rp-ppoe rpm, all that is there is adsl-start and it
wont owrk b/c of no config file.
