Hello all,
I have had trouble mounting my windows partition after compiling 2.4.x.
Reverting back to the old kernel does not seem to solve the problem.
When I issue the command:
mount -t auto /dev/hda1 /mnt/windows
the error I get is:
mount: /dev/hda1 has wrong major or minor number
ls -al /dev/hda1 gives:
brw-rw---- 1 root disk 3, 1 May 6 1998 /dev/hda1
hda6 is my linux partition (mounting linux partitions is no problem) and
ls -al /dev/hda6:
brw-rw---- 1 root disk 3, 1 May 6 1998 /dev/hda1
I also cannot mount my cdrom for similar reasons.
Any ideas?
