I appologize in advance if this arrives late or if you've already got help fixing your problem -- our campus email services have been down for long stretches of time this week (due to infiltration by one of those damn MS Outlook trojans). The bind-utils packages contains utilities, like nslookup, for querying nameservers; rpm is telling you that the bind-utils package is installed: "package bind-utils-8.2.1-7 is already installed". 1. Can you ping your nameservers? What do you get if you type: "ping -c4 62.100.30.228" You should get 4 lines back that end in "... time=<some.number> msec" 2. If you don't get this, then maybe your connection is down? What do you get if you type "/sbin/ifconfig"? 3. Are you sure that 62.100.30.228 and 62.100.30.244 are nameservers? 4. What happens if you type an IP number into Netscape, in the location box? Try "http://207.200.89.226" -- this should take you to www.netscape.com. __ Larry Grover, PhD Assoc Prof of Physiology Marshall Univ Sch of Med On Thu, 07 Dec 2000 21:57:12 +0100, Roadrunner <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Hi, > > I still got the same problems and I still can't find the solution. > --- > For all who didn't get the previous mails: > I'm using RH 6.1 standard KDE-workstation installation (alltough Gnome is > running, not KDE.
