I have an internal dns at 172.16.0.1 that I can run and get my internal
records to resolve , forward and reverse, but I cannot get it to resolve
internet names even with topology and forwarders setup in named.conf. My
firewall isn't blocking dns as...

[root@proxy /etc]# nslookup www.infoseek.com ns.showmaster.com
Server: ftp.showmaster.com
Address: 207.204.83.72

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: www.infoseek.com
Address: 204.162.96.215

fw is ipchains on redhat-7.0 and bind-8.2.2-P7 from redhat-7.0 updates

[gjohnson@proxy gjohnson]$ nslookup
Default Server: fw.showmaster.com
Address: 172.16.0.1

Server: fw.showmaster.com
Address: 172.16.0.1

*** fw.showmaster.com can't find www.infoseek.com: Non-existent host/domain
> mail.showmaster.com
Server: fw.showmaster.com
Address: 172.16.0.1

Name: mail.showmaster.com
