Hi,

The last time i've posted to this list was when I had problems with an
internal modem. That modem is still busy and i'm looking for a driver/rpm so
the box sees the modem, but that's not the problem and the reasonthat I'm
writing to the list.

The problem, this time, is a External E-tech Bullet 56k6 modem.
At first I had a problem with the "auth" and that turned out to be a FAQ.
But, the problem now is: The modem dails in to the ISP, but I cannot get
anything from newsgroups and Netscape cannot view webpages from the
internet. It just freezes.

When you wait long enough you get an error-message from Netscape Navigator
that the hosts home.netscape.com / home6.netscape.com and another adress
can't be reached and asks you if the DNS nameservers are correct.
I cannot find the problem there, but then again I'm not a
DNS-nameservers-expert.

I got the problems mentioned above when I tried to connect using KPPP.

The last ten times(about one hour) I tried to connect using netcfg.
When I use netcfg I get an error massage (in the terminalscreen that i used
to startup netcfg) that "something" couldn't be started.
I've checked the contents of that file and it seems to me that it is almost
the same as the "modem commands(?)" in KPPP.

And everytime that I click on "save" I get the name of the box in the
terminalscreen.(is it a bug or suppost to do that?)

What could be the problem?

Is it a security issue or DNS or ....?

I'm at a loss.

Thanks for any response.

Remon
