Me too. It has been working fine here for over a year on DSL. Many
ISPs don't even require hostname style authentication FWIW. Besides
that, the original poster seems to need PPPoE for accessing his ISP,
so pump/dhcp is only muddying the waters. Doesn't sound like he needs
either, and may be part of the problem if he is indeed running both.
